Trail Relay Banská Štiavnica – Visegrád – štafety

The Banská Štiavnica–Visegrád Trail Relay is a unique 220 km relay race connecting two historic royal towns through the natural beauty of the Štiavnica Mountains and Danube–Ipoly National Park. The race is open to teams of 3, teams of 4 to 8, and teams of 6, with categories for experienced runners and larger teams. The route runs mainly along hiking trails and through nature reserves, offering a chance to discover the region’s cultural and historical landmarks and natural beauty in Slovakia and Hungary. The organizers emphasize building good-neighborly relations and promoting the region.

The route is divided into 18 stages with varied ascents and descents, passing through nature reserves and historic sites. Categories include ULTRA for experienced runners and a solo category for individuals, introduced in 2025. Registration takes place online, where the team captain creates a team after registering. The race offers various categories, including ultra, mixed, Nordic walking and individual categories; registration is open from February to March 2026. The route follows hiking trails and natural paths, emphasizing the experience and connection between the two countries.
