Kokava Trail

Kokava Trail is a certified trail race starting and finishing in Kokava nad Rimavicou, with routes through the Veporské vrchy and Stolické vrchy mountain ranges. There are two distances: the main course is 78 km with +3330 m of elevation gain and an 18-hour time limit; the shorter Pasiečky Trail is 23 km with +1200 m of elevation gain and a 7-hour limit. The varied route consists of 45% meadows, 45% forest trails and 10% asphalt. It has no difficult technical sections, but includes several steeper descents and climbs. Runners will find six aid stations along the course. Winners in the Men, Women, Men 50+ and Women 50+ categories receive medals and prizes during the awards ceremony at the cultural centre.

Mandatory equipment includes a thermal blanket, a headlamp with fresh batteries, a charged mobile phone with an activated SIM card, a GPS device with the race route (a power bank is mandatory when navigating by phone), a reflective vest or bands, at least 1.5 l of fluids, a personal cup or wide-mouth bottle, ID and a clearly visible race number. The first three finishers in the Men, Women, Men 50+ and Women 50+ categories are awarded. The route has no difficult technical sections, but includes several steeper descents and climbs.
