Horský kros Gerlach

The Gerlach Mountain Cross is a traditional uphill mountain race that starts in the village of Gerlachov and runs through the Velická Valley to the Sliezsky dom mountain hotel. The course is 8,400 metres long with an elevation gain of 879 metres, and runners tackle a rocky trail and sections of asphalt road. The event is suited to runners who enjoy challenging mountain terrain and beautiful views of the High Tatras. The race also includes children’s runs, and participants can purchase an entry option that includes original Gerlach Mountain Cross socks.

The maximum capacity is 200 runners. The time limit at the Velický Bridge (5.7 km) is 1:30. Refreshments are provided on the course and at the finish, along with transport of belongings to the finish and a post-race meal. The children’s races (100–500 m) are not timed; every child receives a medal and a sweet. Entry with HKG socks is available for €7. The race takes place in mountain terrain. Registration is available at the municipal office, and children’s races are also included.
